Descend into the Volcanic Core, the heart of the wasteland's power. This claustrophobic level features the Magma Wyrm boss - a serpentine enemy that uses the environment against you in a brutal test of skill.

Step-by-Step Guide
Core Arena Introduction
The volcanic core is a circular arena with a lava pit in the center. The playable ring around the pit narrows as the fight progresses. Heat gauge starts at 50% and slowly rises (5% per 20 seconds). There are no cooling vents - you must finish quickly.
Magma Wyrm - Phase 1 (100-70% HP)
The Wyrm swims through the lava, emerging to attack. Attacks: Lava Spit (3-way spread), Tail Slam (ground pound), Coil Strike (lunges across arena). Target the head (glows red) when it emerges. Head takes 2x damage; body takes 0.5x damage.
Magma Wyrm - Phase 2 (70-40% HP)
Arena narrows by 20%. Wyrm becomes aggressive with new attacks: Lava Wave (sends wave across arena floor, jump over it), Wyrm Dive (dives under, emerges below you, track via screen shake). The two crystal weak points on its back become vulnerable now.
Magma Wyrm - Phase 3 (40-0% HP)
Arena narrows to 60% original size. Core begins collapsing - debris falls from ceiling (orange shadows mark impact). Wyrm uses all previous attacks rapidly. If both crystals were destroyed, Wyrm's speed decreases 30% in this phase.
Crystal Destruction Bonus
Two crystals on Wyrm's back (Phase 2 only). Each takes 25 focused hits. Breaking both reduces Phase 3 difficulty and grants bonus rewards. Position yourself behind the Wyrm and fire while dodging other attacks.
Enemy Guide
Magma Wyrm
(Chapter Sub-Boss)Tips: Serpentine boss with 150,000 HP. Only the head (2x damage) and crystals (1x damage) are effective targets. Body shots are inefficient. Learn emergence patterns to predict head position.
Boss Battle Tips
- •Phase 1: Be patient. Wait for full head emergence before unloading damage. Partial emergence shots hit the body for reduced damage
- •Lava Wave timing: Jump (move upward) as the wave reaches you. It travels slower than bullets, giving you time to react
- •Crystal destruction priority: Hit crystals when Wyrm does Coil Strike (it moves slowly during this attack)
- •Phase 2 Wyrm Dive: The screen shakes before it emerges. Move immediately when you feel the shake - don't wait to see where it emerges
- •Phase 3 debris: Look up constantly. Debris shadows appear 2 seconds before impact. Debris creates safe zones in the lava (temporarily solidified), use these to extend your arena
- •Arena shrinking: As space decreases, use tighter movement patterns. Phase 3 requires micro-adjustments, not sweeping movements
- •Heat gauge management: At 100% heat, you take 10% HP per second. The 6-minute timer accounts for this - slow fights become unwinnable
- •If crystals aren't destroyed by Phase 3 start, abandon them. Focus entirely on head damage and survival
