Step-by-Step Guide
Phase 1: Awakening (100-70% HP)
Leviathan has 200,000 HP total. Phase 1: Only the head is vulnerable (body takes no damage). Attacks: Bite (charges forward), Water Jet (straight-line beam), Tail Whip (swims past you, tail hits). Pattern is predictable - memorize the 30-second cycle. Weak point: Glowing eyes when mouth opens (3x damage).
Phase 2: Fury (70-30% HP)
Leviathan gets aggressive. Now 5 body segments are targetable (head + 4 body parts). Each segment has separate HP (head 60k, each body 10k). You must destroy all segments to progress. New attack: Coil Crush (wraps around arena, safe spots appear). Arena currents intensify (faster movement, harder to control).
Phase 3: Maelstrom (30-0% HP)
Leviathan creates a massive whirlpool (the Maelstrom). You're constantly pulled toward the center (instant death if you reach it). Must fight current while dodging. New attack: Tidal Wave (arena-wide, dive deep to avoid). Leviathan is fully vulnerable but moves erratically. This is the DPS race - 30% HP in limited time.
Segment Destruction Strategy
Phase 2 segments: Don't destroy randomly. Optimal order: Tail segment → 3rd segment → 2nd segment → 1st segment → Head last. This shortens the Leviathan's reach progressively, making later attacks easier to dodge. Each destroyed segment drops a power-up.
Enemy Guide
Leviathan
(Chapter Boss)Tips: Massive sea serpent, 200,000 HP across 3 phases. Each phase dramatically changes fight mechanics. Pattern memorization is key. Use all bombs in Phase 3 - it's the hardest.
Remora Fish
(Add Spawns)Tips: Phase 2 only. Small fish that detach from Leviathan's body. 8 spawn when a body segment is destroyed. Each has 500 HP. Shoot healing beams at Leviathan (300 HP/sec). Kill immediately or Leviathan heals back.
Boss Battle Tips
- •Phase 1 pattern timing: Bite (0-5sec) → Jet (6-15sec) → Tail Whip (16-25sec) → Repeat. The cycle is exact - you can set a timer
- •Weak point windows: Eyes glow for 2 seconds during Bite attack (when mouth opens). This is your only 3x damage window in Phase 1 - don't miss it
- •Phase 1 to Phase 2 transition: At 70% HP, Leviathan dives and resurfaces. 5-second invulnerability. Use this time to reposition
- •Phase 2 segment order: Destroying tail first reduces Tail Whip range by 40%. Massive safety increase. Always go tail first
- •Remora Fish: They spawn in groups of 8. Use a bomb to instant-clear all 8. Otherwise you'll spend 30 seconds killing them while Leviathan heals
- •Phase 3 Maelstrom: The pull strength increases over time. At 10% HP, the pull is nearly impossible to fight. You have ~90 seconds to finish the phase - pure DPS check
- •Tidal Wave dodge: When the wave warning appears, immediately dive to the lowest depth (bottom 20% of screen). Surface after the wave passes (3 seconds)
- •Current management in Phase 3: Don't fight the current constantly - you'll exhaust yourself. Move in bursts: fight current for 2 seconds, let it pull you for 1 second, repeat
- •Bomb usage: Save 3-4 bombs for Phase 3. Use 1-2 in Phase 2 only for Remora cleanup. Phase 3 is where bombs matter most
- •10-minute timer: Phase 1 should take 3 minutes, Phase 2 should take 4 minutes, Phase 3 should take 3 minutes. If you're slower in Phase 1-2, you likely won't make the timer
